Laser mole removal

Mole removal with a laser is a quick and well-tolerated procedure. This procedure is usually conducted because of positive cosmetic results. Depending on the type of mole that is going to be removed, different lasers are employed. Efficiency of mole removal and cosmetic view after healing highly depend on the selected laser and the experience of a physician. However, experience of the doctor is supposed to be the most significant thing. The laser can be very good, but if a doctor performs the procedure very occasionally or does not have specific knowledge, the result after mole removal will be unsatisfactory.

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia. When the procedure is completed, there is a minor wound remaining that heals from 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the size of the mole that is removed. After the procedure is over, a bandage is put on; the doctor writes a prescription for an ointment that should be applied at home.

Laser mole removal is especially recommended for the face or neck where cosmetic result is very important. The risk of scarring is very low. During the healing period it is inadvisable to do sports, go swimming, and attend saunas as well as solariums. It is necessary to avoid direct sun rays; if there is a need, use creams with SPF.
